Heckmondwike Book Shop is not in Heckmondwike - but its not far -just across the Beck from Heckmondwike in Liversedge, at 66 Union Road.
  I have been dealing in books for neigh on 34 years, drifting into the trade through redundancy during Mrs Thatchers mad rush to privatise everything in site. Like many dealers my preference was to deal in what I had previously collected ,in my case "vintage" paperbacks, hence the bias of my stock. I used to do book fairs, my shop used to be open quite a few days per week but nowadays my trade is predominantly done on t'internet.
I have managed to catalogue 8780 books so far, nearly all pre 1972 paperbacks, I strive to add to the list and I am trying to put more detail on this site.
The main reason is to allow you to ask me to list the books on e-Bay. I am not interested in selling books in bulk, I do list some books for sale and will add more when I learn how to use it better. The photo is of one isle, the rest of the shop is as bad.

I have recently aquired (not that recently) a near complete run of the Dalesman, if I could teach myself how to put reports from access onto this site I would list them.

I am working on sorting the stock in the cellar and do find gems now and again.
